I've found and cleaned up my original Tetris games for the Gameboy and NES. I'm addicted, and it's Pachi's fault for talking to me about it; it planted a seed in my head. rofl. I used to play it on the Gameboy when I was in elementary school, but I was never obsessed with it like I was with the original Kirby's PinballLand for the Gameboy. Now, I can't stop playing it! I plugged my NES into my TV since I no longer use it to watch TV, and now I can sit in bed and play a nice game of Tetris. I can also, and sometimes do, play it on the Gameboy Color, but it has no backlight, and I hate leaving my table lamp on to play. I should hunt down a Gameboy Advanced so I don't have that problem.
Anyways, I don't think I posted about the graduation speech I was asked to do. So...I was asked to do a speech for graduation, but I had to audition for it. Today, well technically yesterday, was when the audition was. I went up against 5 other people, and I feel highly confident I was in the top 2, if not the best. 3 of the speeches were absolutely horrible, and contained things about how the girls had sex, got pregnant (one got preggers twice!), and then thought their lives would forever be ruined, but my school helped them. Ok, really...I don't want to hear about anyone having sex, it's not appropriate. I also don't want to hear about your stupid children, they are not the ones graduating and the majority of teenagers can't identify with being a young parent. The other 2, other than mine, were good. The other junior that is graduating had a good speech, but it talked to much about herself and her expierence instead of trying to inspire the graduating students to do something with their lives. The other girl was an amazing speaker, and her speech contained basically the same message I was trying to convey, but it dragged on and on and on. Everyone got a little bored. I think that if she cut out the unessesary details, that speech would be perfect.
Here is my speech. Feedback is appreciate. I've also omitted certain things to keep privacy aka the name of my school and teacher.
( My Speech... )
After I got home I fell asleep because I had been going nonstop all day, and while I was asleep my teacher called. I had given him 5 copies of my speech to read or give to other teachers, so he took the time to look it over for me. He told me that I did extremely well, and that the qualitiy of my speech would be good enough to present at a college graduation, and that he was impressed.
Over all I feel good, and I believe I will be picked.
